Pelican Bay offers an expansive Tram System designed to efficiently bring our Members and Guests to and from the beaches and restaurants. This unique transportation system provides residents and visitors to Pelican Bay, with over 800,000 trips annually throughout the Foundation’s 43 acres of parks, recreation areas, beachfront facilities and boardwalks.


The Foundation inaugurated the conversion of our resident transportation tram system to solar/electric vehicles.

You can pick up these trams at several different locations:

Station 1: South End
Station 2: Head of South Boardwalk
Station 3: South Beach Facility
Station 4: Commons
Station 5: Sandpiper Parking Lot
Station 6: Head of North Boardwalk
Station 7: North Beach Facility
Station 8: North Parking Lot

Helpful Information

  • Children under the age of 13, must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older, to sit on the rear seat.
  • Tram drivers are required to scan your Foundation issued Membership identification card or Guest pass for verification before boarding.
  • Please inform your Tram Driver how many Members, Guests and children are in your party.
  • Shuttle service between both North and South areas of the property can be arranged with notification made to the drivers on duty.
  • During Peak season, you can expect crowds, especially at the individual Tram stations, please have your Foundation issued Membership identification card ready and available to ensure efficient service.
  • A wheelchair accessible tram is available for use by appointment through calling the front desk of the Commons at 239-597-8081.
